The Department of Labor and Employment urged employers to carry out shared plans toward achieving decent work, improve quality life, and social justice for the Filipinos during the 44th National Conference of Employers (NCE) organized by the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) at The Manila Hotel on June 28, 2023.
The theme of the conference “Human-Centered Transitions for a Just and Sustainable Workplace” highlighted the need to uphold the principles of diversity, inclusion, and respect for individual rights in religious beliefs and expression as a means for ensuring a just and sustainable workplace.
In his message during the 3rd Plenary Session of the conference with the theme “Labor and Employment Agenda 2023 and Beyond,” Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma III emphasized the need for a plan to be carried out by tripartite partners aimed at achieving broad-based commitments on decent work, inclusive growth, poverty reduction, improved quality of life, and social justice.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of the conference resolution on ECOP’s call for the government, industry associations, enterprises, and workers associations to prioritize the mutual rights and well-being of the social partners in all workplace transitions and ensure their active participation in social dialogues.
