Participants from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao were divided into four (4) batches. Each batch had two (2) days for the discussion of updates and settling of agreements and resolutions on current program implementation concerns.
BLE Director Dominique Rubia-Tutay welcomed the participants during the two-week-long training and provided them with necessary updates on other programs managed by the Bureau such as the JobStart Philippines Program, Job Fairs, and the DOLE-AMP K to 12. The Director also readily responded to the questions raised by the participants regarding the said programs.
The training included an overview of the proposed Government Internship Program (GIP) Bill, the new point system and changes in the criteria of the 2016 Revised Search for Best PESO (SBP) Manual, and an indepth process flow discussion and workshop session on the Integrated Manual of Operations (IMO) of the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES). These were presented by the respective BLE program focal persons.
Elicitation of opinions, inquiries and suggestions from the participants resulted in sets of agreements on the concerned programs, polished in the course of the continuous re-assessment of inputs gathered throughout the four batches. Through this effort in cascading necessary information to the Regional and Field Office representatives, the regions are expected to bring their learnings to their respective PESOs for a more informed and collaborative undertaking in the delivery of the programs’ services for the greater benefit of the general public.
