Commitment to the continuous provision of quality public service requires equivalent dedication to the pursuit of learning and improvement – this idea has been constantly upheld by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Offices (ROs) alongside the Bureau of Local Employment (BLE), through Capacity Development trainings and Year-end Performance Assessments (YEPAs).


 Responding to the requests of DOLE NCR on 25 January 2018 and DOLE RO 2 on 6-8 February 2018, the Bureau, represented by its PESO Focal Person Mr. Ian Ticar, delivered updates on the status of PESO Institutionalization and the revised manual for the upcoming Search for Best PESO (SBP).


The major changes in the new SBP manual were presented and clarified based on the revised point system specifically focusing on Labor Market Information (LMI) and Career Guidance which will focus solely on the number of enrolled Grade 10 or Junior High School students who received the PESO’s career guidance services.


Aside from the in-house events and discussions, a site visit and benchmarking activity commenced during the three (3)-day YEPA and Cultural Activity of DOLE RO 2. PESO San Fernando gladly showcased their best practices in the daily operation of its employment facilitation and counselling routine in hopes of inspiring other PESOs to actively assist their respective constituents in availing DOLE programs and services.


A Fellowship Night intended to step up the camaraderie among the PESOs of RO 2 was also held as part of the activity. DOLE RO 2 awarded certificates, and distributed IT equipments and year-end performance incentives to the PESO achievers of the region.


In line with BLE’s efforts in overseeing and assisting DOLE ROs, the Bureau has set its eyes on attending another activity arranged by DOLE RO 1 on 27-28 February 2018 in Angeles, Pampanga.
