Registration for the JobStart Philippines Program in General Trias, Cavite Concludes

The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in General Trias, Cavite successfully conducted the registration of applicants for the JobStart Philippines Program.

The registration was held from 3 to 5 June 2014 in the Convention Center of General Trias, Cavite. A total of 386 participants from General Trias registered for the program.

“The registration process is the first and initial phase of the JobStart Program. Those who were pre-selected will undergo career guidance and those who will be randomly selected to undergo in the whole JobStart project will go under life skills training, technical training, and internship”, Bureau of Local Employment (BLE) Director Dominique R. Tutay said.

To be admitted in the Program, the applicant must be at least a high school graduate, 18 to 24 years old, without or a maximum of one (1) year work experience, and a resident of any pilot areas i.e., General Trias, Cavite, San Fernando, Pampanga, Taguig City, and Quezon City.

In 5 June 2014, applicants in General Trias were pre-selected through a public lottery witnessed by Mayor Antonio Ferrer and Councilor Kerby Salazar. The pre-selected registrants had gone with the client assessment, group session on career guidance, group session on labor market information (LMI), and one-on-one career guidance for the whole month of June. The selection of beneficiaries who will undergo further trainings and internhip will be held in July.
