It was attended by representatives from different life skills providers in Luzon. Eight (8) modules were presented in the workshop which include the following: (1) Know Yourself; (2) World of Work; (3) Job hunting skills; (4) Health and well-being; (5) Entrepreneurship; (6) Family, relationships & networking; (7) Financial Literacy; and (8) Marketing Yourself.
These modules were reviewed by the participants to fit the beneficiaries of the training and the JobStart Program itself.
“Life skills training is one of the key programs that selected youth beneficiaries will undergo in the duration of the JobStart Program. Employers have repeatedly pointed that life skills are critical to succeed in the world of work. It is important for the youth of today to have these skills to enhance their employability”, BLE Director Dominique R. Tutay said.
Life skills providers that attended the Workshop were Institute for Integrality, Investors in People, Education Development Center, and Asia Pacific Academy.
JobStart Philippines is a program of the DOLE, funded by the Government of Canada with technical assistance from the Asian Development Bank, was conceived to help young high school and college graduates by assisting them in making informed career decisions, and by giving them a chance to improve their life skills necessary to succeed in today's competitive workplace.
